Allison Ann Grabowski rests in the arms of her godmother and aunt, Michelle Joller, while her godfather Eric stands beside them.  To the left and right, her proud parents Robert and Barbara (nee Alstad) Grabowski.  The clergy who officiated for the baptism on Sunday, December 20th, are behind then, left to right, Msgr. George, Canon Philip and Deacon Joseph Wirag.

Happy chatter over good food in a festive atmosphere: some of the hard-working Pyrohi crew at their Christmas party at Wright's Seafood Inn on Sunday afternoon, December 20th.  While the final tally is not yet in, it seems the project did better this year than at Christmas '08.  Good job!

Svyati Mykola arrives to present gifts to the students after admonishing them to live up to their responsibilities.  The fete was supposed to be held on Saturday, the 19th, but Saint Nick couldn't take off from the North Pole because the airport there was closed because of the snowstorm.

You're never too young to enjoy a visit from St. Nick!

The ticket takers and guardians of the gateway, John Zaletsky and Rose Marie Bogdon, man the "front office" as people arrive for the St. Josaphat Society's Nite at the Races on Saturday, November 1th.

A happy crowd "meets, greets and eats" as the buffet goes into high gear.

Four of the members serving up the picnic-style meal: from the far left to right, Marika Zaliszczuk, Tom Kerchansky, Ann Konecky and Donna Zorey.

Tom Kerchansky and Carol Ostaffe choose prizes they would like to win from the vast array of gifts in the Chinese auction. The friends and associates of the Society showed great generosity in these lean times.

At the end of it all, the sweet feeling of satisfaction for a job well done and a very successful event.

Representing Bishop Robert Moskal, Msgr. George presents Pope Benedict XVI's
Cross for the Church and the Pontiff to the First Lady of Ukraine at the
Ukrainian Institute, 79th Street and 5th Avenue in New York City on Monday,
June 29th.

Vanessa Lorraine Gray is held by her father, Daniel, while her mother, Kristen (nee Kuzemka) stands to their right.  Flanking them are her sponsors, Megan Lynn Coffield and Matthew Gray.  Behind them are the clergy, left to right, Deacon Joseph Wirag, Msgr. George and Father Phil.

The terrible accident very early on Monday morning that cut the power and utility lines on the pole leading to our rectory.  Telephone and internet service

was restored on Tuesday around 3pm, and the rectory is still using a temporary power line from the church to keep operating.

Nicholas River Markle (being held by his godmother) was inducted into the Church on Sunday morning, October 18, 2009, through the Mysteries of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion.  From left to right, Christopher Martys & Susana Munoz, the sponsors; Nicholas River, Msgr. Appleyard, and Lisa (nee Stranko) & Jason Markle, the happy parents.

The Poltava Dance Ensemble performs for the League of Ukrainian Catholics Banquet held in conjunction with their convention in Pittsburgh on Saturday evening, October 10th. We are proud of our youth who are members of the troop.  How many can you spot?

Lilian Jane Ulrich seems to be looking for her father, Cesare, while she rests in the arms of her mother, Vivian, after her baptism and chrismation on Sunday, September 13th.  Her sponsors, Ivan & Veronica Colaizzi stand to the left, and the clergy behind.  We welcome Lilian to the Church and our parish.

The "Belles of the Ball" prepare to step off in the first dance as they make their debut at the Evening of Embroidery held by Soyouz Ukrainok on Sunday evening, September 13th, at the Raddison Hotel in Greentree. There were three young women from our parish making their debut.

Myron & Barbara Spak's daughter, Larissa Marie, is escorted by John F. Harbist.

Christina Olena Hlutkowsky, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Roman Hlutkowsky and granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. Peter Hlutkowsky, is escorted by Antony Chirovsky, the son of Fr. & Pani Ivan Chirovsky.

Halyna Smereka, daughter of our Fr. Ivan & Pani Oksana Smereka, is escorted by Frank Napolitano.

Mary Ann Staranka's cake to celebrate her 90th birthday.  Her sage advice for staying so young? Read the lower left hand corner of the cake!

One of Mary Ann's daughters pins on a corsage.  About ninety people (one for each year of her life?) gathered at Carnegie's  Ukrainian Citizens Club to wish her mnohaya lita on Saturday afternoon, June 6th. Keep on dancing!

Some of our acolytes meet with their new coordinator, Myron Spak, and their chaplain, Canon Philip Bumbar, after the Liturgy on Sunday, the 22nd of February. We are in the process of trying to reorganize how we deploy the servers to assist at divine services.

Tom Kerchansky, president of the St. Josaphat Society, and Arlene Esterburg man the giant pots of pasta and sauce as the annual Sapaghetti Dinner kicks into high gear after the Liturgy on February 22nd.

The critical assembly line that dishes out the food: (from left to right) Stepahnie Fedora, John Besspiata, Mary Reabe and her husband Keith. Donna Zorey is in the background to the left.

Jim Bogdon adds the finishing touch to the atmosphere by going from table to table playing his accordian.
